CLOSET ORGANIZATION & WARDROBE EDIT

does great style begin with a clean slate?

A great sense of personal style begins with an organized closet, where everything has a purpose and is easily accessible. For starters, it makes the morning routine less stressful by ensuring you aren’t wasting time looking for a missing shoe or a clean pair of pants. It also guarantees that putting together a great outfit is that much less complicated, when you know what you’re looking for and where to find it. What’s more, the average person wears only 20% of the items hanging in their closet, meaning 80% of what you’re looking at is getting in the way. When it comes to a well-fuctioning closet, the idea of ‘less is more’ most certainly applies.

Removing closet-clutter frees up physical and mental space to make great styling decisions. When you’re able to clear out things that never get used, you’re left with a collection of items you love, and end up feeling like you actually have more. Your sense of style improves when you’re able to access all your great pieces without being distraced by things you never wear.

The objective of a closet edit and organization is to part with clothing that no longer serves you and focus on what aligns with your current style goals, so that choosing an outfit in the morning is one of the easiest decisions you make all day. While it can feel like an overwhelming process, often all it takes is a fresh set of eyes and a commitment to upgrading your organizational methods.

We like to focus on the men’s and women’s essential wardrobe checklists, and then build from there. Creating a foundation of basics is the first step in any well-rounded closet.

HOW OUR CLOSET ORGANIZATION PROCESS WORKS

Unlike what you may envision when you think of a Personal Stylist editing your closet, our organization process is a collaborative approach so that you’re always comfortable with the decisions being made. Clothing can often hold sentimental attachment that needs to be processed before letting it go. It’s important that this experience feels safe and cathartic so that when you let go of items, you know you’re doing it for the greater good..

We’ll begin your organization with a thorough in-take process in order to understand your challenges and outline your goals. Before seeing your closet we want to know you and your lifestyle on a deeper level so that we can better assist you in building a wardrobe that works.

A WARDROBE THAT WORKS FOR YOU

Let us show you how to create an organized, efficient closet.

DETERMINE YOUR GOALS

Before you begin it’s necessary to get clear on your style objectives. For most people, having a wardrobe that makes them look their best and therefore feel their most confident is the overall goal, but it’s important to determine what you want your image to convey. Your Personal Stylist will work with you to establish a description of your ideal look, which will provide you with a set of criteria to measure the items in your closet against.

EDIT PIECE BY PIECE

We’ll work together with you piece-by-piece to determine what stays and what goes. If you’re unsure of an item, we’ll test its versatility to see how many outfits we can create and assess whether some minor alterations could help bring it back to life. We can also create a virtual catalogue, outlining how to easily mix and match what you own. Once completed, we’ll reorganize your closet in a methodical fashion that makes selecting and storing clothing more efficient.

REPURPOSE YOUR NO'S

Clothing is a gift that keeps on giving, and what no longer works for you will most certainly provide value for someone else. Family and friends are a great place to start. If you’d like to donate your clothing, we partner with seveal non-profit organizations and will coordinate the delivery on your behalf. Your Personal Stylist is also able to assist you in reselling high-end designer items with 3rd party consignment companies.
